Easy Nighttime Acne Skincare Routine - Cleanser
If you read our blog on oil cleansing, then you already know why it's the ideal cleansing method for acne-prone skin. And contrary to popular belief, oil cleansing is super easy. It takes the same amount of time as, say, that super harsh and drying conventional cleanser you're used to, but instead leaves your skin optimally nourished and glowing. Plus, using The Giver Ritual Cleanser eliminates the need for a separate step to remove any and all makeup.
The Giver is an ideal choice for acne-prone skin with it's nutrient-rich and non-pore clogging formula. Plus, it's rich, roasted coffee aroma lends an extra-indulgent moment to your skincare routine - without any essential oils that can potentially irritate acne-prone skin!
Here's what you do:
  1. Using circular motions, massage 3-4 pumps of The Giver into dry skin for ~30 seconds until makeup dissolves completely.
  2. Rinse away with warm water - that's it!
  3. Pat skin dry with your Ultra-Soft Organic Facial Cloth (perfect for sensitive skin!)

Water is a crucial part of every skincare routine. Otherwise, skin becomes dehydrated and your other products don't absorb effectively into the skin (aka. they become useless!) The Offering Probiotic Toner is an ultra-fine, pure hydrosol mist that hydrates the skin and enhances the benefits of the other steps in your routine. Each of the three ingredients is chosen especially for sensitive, acne-prone skin.

Take a look at these ingredients...

Blood Orange

Green Tea

Here's what you do:

After cleansing, mist face with toner. Just ~4 pumps for the cheeks, forehead & chin is all you need.

Next up - our coveted Blemish Correct Soothing Serum & Spot Treatment. While every acne skincare routine should include some sort of soothing blemish treatment, Blemish Correct goes above and beyond without any of the regular (aka. often irritating) ingredients found in other spot treatments. How, you ask?

It's all in the ingredients...

Milk Thistle: contains over 60% Linoleic Acid, has detoxifying properties, reduces redness and irritation, helps to stimulate healing

White Mustard Seed: naturally antibacterial, contains high levels of skin-soothing minerals like Magnesium, contains a component called Sinalbin which helps your pores expel toxins

Sandalwood Seed: contains rare, anti-inflammatory Ximenyic Acid, helps to reduce sebum production so you get less clogged pores

Temulawak (aka. Javanese Turmeric): contains anti-inflammatory Curcumenes, naturally anti-microbial, reduces irritation and the appearance of inflammation

All that to say that Blemish Correct is super unique, super effective and takes just a few seconds to apply.

Here's what you do:

While skin is still damp, apply 3-4 drops of Blemish Correct  to areas where you typically breakout. Gently press and massage the serum into your skin.

Easy Nighttime Acne Skincare Routine - Moisturizer

Not all moisturizers are created equal when it comes to acne-prone skin. It's super important to feed your skin the nutrients and fatty acids it needs, while avoiding ingredients that may clog pores or irritate skin further. Enter Balancing Act

Balancing Act is super lightweight and contains the exact fatty acids that acne-prone skin needs thanks to soothing and balancing natural ingredients.

It feeds your skin with these fatty acids:

Linoleic Acid: reduces occurrence of clogged pores, balances sebum, anti-inflammatory properties

Alpha-Linolenic Acid: reduces the appearance of inflammation, increases growth of healthy new skin cells, improves skin texture

Gamma-Linolenic Acid: prevents skin from becoming dry, irritated & inflamed, anti-inflammatory properties, blocks acne-causing androgens (hormones)

With Balancing Act, your skin simply gets everything it needs out of a moisturizer and nothing it doesn't.

Here's what you do:

While skin is still damp (you can always mist again if needed), apply half to one pump of Balancing Act to the entire face, gently pressing and massaging into the skin.

If you find that your skin craves extra moisture, you can always layer half a pump of The Giver Cleansing Oil over Balancing Act Face Serum as a final moisturizer. (Who doesn't love a good multi-tasker?)

If you have scarring left over from your acne (same), using a gentle, but retinol-rich product like Light Reveal can help to speed up cell turnover and reduce the dark, hyper-pigmented areas caused by scarring. Just know that it can take up to 12 weeks of consistent use to see visible results  - there are no quick fixes when it comes to acne scars.

Light Reveal contains 5% Vitamin C and lots of skin-loving carotenes (pro-Vitamin A) and natural retinol (Vitamin A) that help to even and brighten skin tone, while reducing the appearance of dark spots. Definitely a bonus if you have the few extra seconds!

Here's what you do:

Apply a drop or two of Light Reveal to areas affected by acne scarring. You only need the tiniest bit! Simply press and massage into skin. You can also dab a bit around the orbital bone (eye area) to reduce puffiness and brighten the eye area overnight.

So, that's it! A quick and easy, 5-minute nighttime acne skincare routine to keep your complexion calm and clear without any fuss. Let us know if you've tried this routine in the comments below!
